SUREWiSE is made up of a large team of insurance professionals who all work together to protect our client’s and their assets. Throughout your interactions with our organisation, you probably won’t get to meet everyone so this is just one way we can introduce our team to you.
In this article, let’s get to know Kevin Boots.
Kevin is a Domestic Account Executive and manages a portfolio of clients within SUREWiSE’s Domestic Team. Kevin provides valuable advice to his clients who are looking for insurance policies to protect their personal assets such as their home, contents, investment property, strata or community title, motor vehicle, caravan, trailer, and pleasure craft among many other products.
Born in Adelaide, South Australia, Kevin is the youngest of three and has a brother and sister.
Prior to joining SUREWiSE in January 2018, Kevin gained impeccable knowledge and skills from working within the insurance industry. More specifically, Kevin has worked in the general insurance team of a major Australian credit union, has worked for a large well-known Australian insurance company as a Business Development Manager and Underwriter (in their Adelaide and Melbourne offices), and has also worked as a Case Manager for a workers’ compensation insurance provider. Kevin’s exposure has also provided him with extensive knowledge in the rural and farm sector.
What does Kevin like about working in the insurance industry? He enjoys; assisting people; discovering their needs; identifying their potentials risks and hazards; and giving knowledge to others to help them make informed decisions.
The biggest challenge Kevin faces in the insurance industry is making clients aware of their needs because of their perceptions of risk and what insurance can potentially cover. Kevin likes the challenge of using his knowledge and skills to educate his clients with important risk and insurance information whilst educating his clients at the same time. He believes it’s important that clients understand insurance policies are not the same and that they understand policy differences to ensure they have the right level of cover.
What does Kevin like about working at SUREWiSE? Kevin was quick to respond with, “The great bunch of people I work with and the friendly team environment where everyone is willing to help each other”.
Kevin has a number of personal hobbies and enjoys; trail running in the Adelaide Hills; hiking and exploring different parts of Australia; and every Saturday is involved in “Park Run” which is a volunteer running group. He also sets himself extra training goals such as sprints and mid-week social runs to improve his overall personal goals.
Agriculture is of great interest to Kevin and he studied at Urbrae Agricultural High School. He enjoys all aspects of agriculture, viticulture, gardening and just being in the great outdoors.
When it comes to travelling, Kevin has been to every Australian capital and recently ventured to the Flinders Ranges in South Australia for a camping and hiking trip. He has also travelled internationally to Bali in Indonesia four times as well as Phuket in Thailand and Los Angeles, New York and Florida in the USA.
If Kevin could have a month-long holiday anywhere in the world, where would he want to travel to and why? His response was to stay in Australia and travel up the Western Australian coast and into Northern Territory because of the spectacular beaches and sights on offer in these regions.
When it comes to sports, Kevin previously played soccer but is now more into running and hiking and doesn’t follow any particular sports or codes.
Whilst Kevin doesn’t really enjoy cooking, he does love his food (and who doesn’t!). He loves Italian food and is favourite dish is a traditional meat/salami pizza. Kevin’s favourite local restaurant is “Level One Restaurant” at Electra House Hotel which caters for Modern Asian Fusion food in an informed yet informal dining style.
Kevin is constantly on the go, so how does he relax? Kevin says, “I relax by running, watching Netflix documentaries, catching up with friends, exploring new places in South Australia and visiting wineries for a glass of quality wine accompanies by great food.
So what makes Kevin tick? He is passionate for good customer service, surrounds himself with good friends, and constantly challenges himself to continue maintaining his fitness for as long as he can.
